The men's lacrosse team, ranked No. 7 in the NAIA, returned to the field at TWU Athletic Complex on Tuesday. The team hosted the Saints of Thomas More University in a non-conference game.
The teams exchanged the first four goals of the game. Jackson Lollis scored the first goal for the Bulldogs, putting the game in a 1-1 tie. Hayden Harmon converted the second goal for the team, tying the score 2-2. TWU scored the final goal of the first quarter, a Lollis goal that made the score 3-2.
The game became tied once again by a Thomas More goal, making the score 3-3. The opponents did not score for the rest of the half while the Bulldogs scored three more times. Lollis had the first of the three goals to break the tie. Matthew Tullock scored next on a Jack Driscoll assist to make the lead two goals. Harmon had the final goal of the half, giving Tennessee Wesleyan a 6-3 advantage at halftime.
Out of the halftime break, Driscoll got in on the scoring with two consecutive goals, moving the score to 8-3. After a goal by the Saints, the Bulldogs went on a scoring streak. Tullock scored three straight goals, moving the lead to 11-4. Lollis ended the third quarter with a goal, giving the team a 12-4 advantage with the fourth quarter remaining.
Two more goals by TWU gave the team six consecutive goals before a Thomas More score near the end of the game. Tullock scored those final two goals off Driscoll and Harmon assists, helping the Bulldogs defeat the guests 14-5.
Tullock finished with six goals in the game, a career-high. Lollis added four while Harmon and Driscoll each added two. Driscoll and Harmon each had two assists. Jack Shaw finished with seven saves in the net.
