TCAT Dickson is accepting applications for TWO full-time Practical Nursing Instructor positions. One evening position at the Clarksville Campus and one day position at the Franklin Campus.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
Current RN license in good standing in the State of Tennessee
3 years as an RN within last 5 years OR 2 years as an RN last 5 years and 24 credit hours toward a higher degree in nursing
Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students a plus
SKILLS
Must possess the communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher
Must show evidence of good character, organizational skills and mature attitude
Must be willing to remain current in the nursing profession
Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be willing to coordinate and work with other nursing instructors and staff members
Must be willing and able to meet all requirements set by clinical sites to supervise students at the site. Clinical site requirements subject to change at the discretion of the site
Computer skills and ability to adapt quickly to new technology required
GENERAL DUTIES: Including but not limited to: on-campus teaching/supervision of nursing students in classroom/clinical settings; evaluating/advising students; maintaining confidential, accurate and complete records on paper and electronically; completing reports as required in a timely manner; participate in developing the program; participate in recruiting new students and placing graduates; maintain an active advisory committee; and other duties as assigned. Instructor reports to Director of Health Careers and Practical Nursing. Schedule varies according to position and must be maintained. Clinical hours may vary. Travel to other TCAT Dickson campuses and alternate clinical sites may be required.
