Good evening to everyone. The Sheriff’s Office was made aware that someone is calling our citizens posing as various officers from local law enforcement agencies including the Sheriff’s Office. The scammers are using the same scam about missing court dates and failing to show up for jury duty to demand payment and threatening to arrest if no payment is received. Please be reminded that law enforcement will NEVER call to demand monies of any type. Elderly citizens are especially at risk for these scams. If you have any elderly family or friends please have a conversation with them about always being suspicious of unsolicited calls and feel free to call our non-emergency number with any questions.
