We are grieving with our brothers and sisters from the Tennessee Highway Patrol with the loss of Sergeant Lee Russell. Sgt Russell has been a fixture of law enforcement in our county. He has helped numerous times with searching for missing persons, criminal apprehension, searching for stolen property. In our county alone, he saved the lives of deputies during an officer involved shooting on Veterans Day of 2015. He spent time here during the flood searching for victims. He was recently in Houston County assisting with the search of the man who shot the Erin officer. Sgt. Russell was a consummate professional. He was always willing to help an agency when requested. Sergeant Russell will always hold a special place in our hearts and will forever be remembered. We will be discussing a way to memorialize his contributions to Humphreys County law enforcement in the coming weeks. Please say an extra prayer for his wife and young children along with his parents and many friends.
Sergeant Lee Russell, Rest in Peace brother!
