This afternoon I was involved in a meeting with various organizations as a follow up from our town hall meeting as of recent. Director Sheehan from TEMA started the meeting giving an overview of who all was involved and some of the moving parts. Many organizations gave a brief update of the flood plans and of models that were in the process and info that had been done to this point. There was a draft of flooding and how it could be used to help us prepare for any future floods or bad weather and in what areas of the county. TDEC, Corp of Engineers, TDOT, TVA, County Executive Jessie Wallace, Waverly Mayor Buddy Frazier, Richard Rye Director of Schools, Odell Poyner our local EMA Director were presence. There was a ton of information that was discussed. Way to much information to report. The main reason I wanted to communicate this was to let the people of our county know that this is still very much alive and actively being discussed. Things are moving forward to help repair our state roads through the county and things that are being done to protect our communities and our people !
