Dickson County Sheriff’s Office Final Day of Junior Academy

Dickson County Sheriff’s Office Final Day of Junior Academy
0Comments

Today was our final day of junior academy and it was action packed! We utilized the shooting simulator all morning and these kiddos showed out! They probably could have done it all day as the challenges from kids and SRO’s went back and forth for bragging rights. After lunch we covered DUI’s and practiced field sobriety tasks with the drunk googles. We had a water balloon fight that ended with just about everyone soaked and then passed out certificates and some special awards for stand out students. It was a long week, but we always have a great time!

The kiddos always ask to come back, but like the students before them, are told no because we want as many middle school students as possible to get the experience. So, if you have an upcoming 6th or 7th grader this year they will still be eligible next year. We limit the class to 20 because we want each kid to get as much one on one as we can. The camp always fills up fast so contact Sgt Caruthers or message us here for more information.

We had too many pictures for one post, so stay tuned for a second! And last but not least, this camp is funded by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee so a big thank you to them for believing in this camp and helping us bring it to life every year!
